Dennis Leo Christopher, Sr., 66, of Krebs, passed away Tuesday, May 12, in McAlester.

The family will welcome friends for visitation at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gowen-Cambria Cemetery, with Tommy Bevans officiating. Pallbearers are Sidney Jackson, Alex Jackson, Jamie Jackson, Jonathan Stokes, Jamie “Dub” Jackson and Logan Christopher. Honorary pallbearers are Tristen Nail and Dylan Bernard.


Dennis Christopher was born on March 15, 1960 in Oklahoma City to Dennis Burt Christopher and Vera Lee (Trammell) Christopher. He grew up in the Gowen area and attended school at Hartshorne, graduating from Hartshorne High School. After school he started working, eventually getting on with Kibois as a habilitative training specialist and job coach, assisting challenged adults with their daily activities. Dennis enjoyed playing pool, and in his later years, became an avid “gamer”, playing video and computer games.


Dennis is survived by his wife, Sunnye Christopher; sons, Dennis Christopher, Jr., Logan Christopher, and Christopher Stokes; a granddaughter, Kinsley Christopher; and several sibligs, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D. B. Christopher and Vera Jackson; his step-parents, Zeala Christopher and E. J. Jackson; and a sister, Michelle Christopher.
