Elizabeth “Betty” Bishop, age 87, of Quinton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the Gowen Community Center, 9236 S.W. Gowen Road, Gowen, OK 74546. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 9:30 a.m., with the Invocation to follow at 10:00 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service. She was born on December 20, 1938, in Tina, Missouri, and lived a full life marked by independence and creativity. Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her strong resilient spirit, kind heart, and her love of crafting. She found joy in creating with her hands and sharing that creativity with others. She was the proud mother of six children: Marie (Bill) Brown, James Brewer, Dan (Robyn) Brewer, Diana Sue Richardson, Karla Beler, and Kim (David) Boyles. She is survived by five siblings: Patricia Kunkler, Donald Warren, Linda Estabrook, Marilyn Whiteside and Roger Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bishop; her parents, Martha Marie (Campbell) Warren and James Warren; her brother, Frank Warren; and her great-granddaughter, Tenley Jane Lohman. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in their hearts. A private interment will be held at Gowen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Gowen Cemetery Care Fund, P.O. Box 216, Gowen, OK 74545.Your generosity will help ensure the continued upkeep and beauty of her final resting place.
