Jerry Andrew "A.J." Brown

Funeral services for Jerry Andrew "A. J." Brown were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Roosevelt. Burial followed at Roosevelt Cemetery under direction of Ray and Martha's Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 10, 1945, in Hobart, to Francis Andrew and Viola Brooks Brown and passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, in Roosevelt at the age of 65. Jerry graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1963 also graduated from Okmulgee Vo-Tech. He served with the Navy Seabees in Vietnam.

Jerry worked for Plains Pipeline Company for 42 years and lived in Elk City many years, moving to Roosevelt one year ago.

In May 1964, he married Laura Huffman. Jerry and Loretta Pittman were married in May 1995 and she preceded him in death in May 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Roosevelt and farmed in the area for many years. 

He is survived by a special friend, Jean Colleen North, Oklahoma City; two sisters: Judith Conrad and husband, Redd, Roosevelt; and Marilyn Harris and husband, Kenneth, Oklahoma City; three nephews: Jerome and Matthew Lanig and Christopher Harris; one niece, Michelle Laborde; two stepdaughters: Suzanne Brooks, Elk City; and Dana Xenos, Houston; two stepsons: Cory Shelton, Houston; and Brandon Wheeler, Elk City 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Granger Lance Lanig; and sister, Francis Brown.
