Funeral services for Alma Madeline Adkisson were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mountain View. Rev. Jack Brown pastor officiated and interment was in Mountain View Cemetery under direction of People's Coop Funeral Home of Lone Wolf.
Alma Madeline Adkisson, age 87 of Mountain View, was born August 14, 1914 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Oscar and Minnie Ferguson Barkley and died Thursday May 2, 2002 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City.
Alma and Hilmer Adkisson were married on September 24, 1932 at the First Baptist Church in Mountain View and he preceded her in death July 19, 1998.
Alma loved to sew, crafting and baking lemon pies. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years and was a sponsor for Falls Creek. At the time of her death, she was active in WMU and her Sunday School Class. She was a very thoughtful and wonderful mother and was always strong for her entire family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Oscar and Minnie; her husband of 65 years Hilmer; one sister Madge Black; four brothers Homer Barkley, Ray Barkley, Orville Barkley, and Hershel Barkley; and one great grandchild Morgan Vitale.
Surviving are 2 daughters Arnita Weber and husband Lloyd of Lone Wolf and Cheryl Zimmerman and husband Ricky of Mountain View; one sister Ruby Flippin of Mountain View; four grandchildren Ranae Vitale and husband Neil of South Bury, CT., Ronnie Weber of Lone Wolf, Todd Zimmerman of Mountain View and Tara Hixon and husband Mike of Siloam Springs, AR.; 6 graeat grandchildren Whitney Vitale, Rosie Vitale, Felicia Vitale, Elijah Hixon, Zoe Hixon and Sabrina Zimmerman.

Hilmer L. Adkisson, of Mountain View, was born January 11, 1914 and died July 19, 1998.
He married Alma Madeline Barkley on September 24, 1932 at the First Baptist Church in Mountain View and she survives him.
To this union was born two daughters Arnita and Cheryl.
