Funeral service for Verla Elizabeth Woodward Willis, 92, Snyder, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Becker Funeral Home Chapel, Snyder, with Emmett Hayslip, Mountain Park, officiating.

Mrs. Willis died Monday at her home in Snyder where she lived with her son Jackie Dee Willis.

Burial will be in Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park, Oklahoma.

Verla Elizabeth Woodward was born two and one half miles east of Mountain Park, Oklahoma on February 21, 1913 in the home of her parents, Jefferson Davis Woodward and Exah Jane Woody Woodward. Verla graduated from Snyder High School in 1931 and attended Cameron College for one year. She married Bennie Leroy Willis of Mountain Park, Oklahoma on May 16, 1938.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters, Jimmie Keith and Barbara Willis of Hobart, Oklahoma, Donald Wayne and Phyllis Willis of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Bennie Lee McDaniel of Hurst, Texas, Jackie Dee Willis of Snyder, Oklahoma and Kathy Jane Thomas of Collinsville, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Jackson of Hobart, Oklahoma, Audra Dawn Willis of Gainesville, Texas, Christopher McDaniel of Hurst, Texas, Chance Willis of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Dr. Darren Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Amanda McDaniel York of Dallas, Texas and Kory Thomas of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Verla's six surviving great grandchildren are Kale, Jake, Karly, Madison, Bennie and Megan.

Verla was preceded in death by her parents, J. D. (1859 - 1930) and Exah (1870 - 1947), her husband Bennie Willis (1913 - 1968), four brothers and one sister, J. D. (Camp Dix, NJ - 1918), Otis (1965), Clyde (1966), Drew (1975) all of Mountain Park, OK, and Birdie Niece (1966) of Fort Cobb, OK. Verla's siblings were much older (born from 1888 to 1899), and provided her several nephews and nieces closer to her age who were like brothers and sisters to her.
