Samuel McCurdy

Services held Monday, June 2, for Samuel Monroe McCurdy, 83, in the Greer Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Emmett Hayslip, Mountain Park officiating. Burial was in the Gotebo Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home.

Samuel "Mack" McCurdy was born August 28, 1902 at Alba, Tex., the son of James and Fannie McCurdy. He married Ida Mae Maxwell September 15, 1923 in Gotebo. She preceded him in death December, 1969. McCurdy lived in Santa Anna, Calif. and was a brick mason before moving to Mangum 16 years ago. He died May 30 in the Mangum City Hospital.

Survivors are three daughters, Retha West, Edmond; Gracie Holt, Mangum and Geneva Mannan, Joshua, Tex.; five sons, Archie, Norman; William, North Highlands, Calif.; Lawrence, Oklahoma City; Larry, Midwest City; Darrell, Philippine Islands; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild."
