HENNESSEY - The funeral for Ivan Taggart, 84, will be 10 a.m. Friday in Union Chapel Church. The Rev. Duane Roever will officiate. Burial will be in Lyon Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. He was born July 16, 1919, northeast of Hennessey to Andy W. and Mattie Snyder Taggart and died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at his home. He graduated from Hennessey High School. He and Frances Gilbert were married Jan. 1, 1939, in Hennessey. Surviving are his wife, Frances of the home; three sons, John of Hennessey, Jim of Kiezer, Ore., and Tracy of Hennessey; two daughters, Ramona Rutherford of Hennessey and Kay Daniels of Warren, Texas; one sister, Arlene Poteet of Hennessey; 17 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.
