HENNESSEY - Funeral services for Sam L. Hawk, 78, who died Saturday at the Hennessey Care Center, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Union Chapel Church officiated by the Revs. Joseph Stubbs and David Brown.

Burial will follow in Lyon Valley Cemetery under the direction of Cordry & Son Funeral Home, Hennessey.

He was born Oct. 22, 1911, to Jesse and Hettie Hawk in Hennessey. He lived his entire life in the Hennessey community. He graduated from Hennessey High School in 1929. He married Libby Prazak May 14, 1936.

He farmed and operated a feed and seed store for many years in Hennessey. He served on the Hennessey School Board and was an elder, church superintendent and teacher.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Ronald Hawk of Mustang; a daughter, Gladys Brown of Denver, Colo; two brothers, Lee Hawk of Tuttle and Edward Hawk of Bossier City, LA.; a sister Enda Barnes of Garber ; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the Union Chapel Church in lieu of flowers.
