A private family graveside for Lori (Kirtley) Wilson will be Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2013, in Kingfisher Cemetery. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Christian Church, Enid, with Pastor Rick Nichols officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans funeral Home
 
Lori was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Enid, Okla., to Lawrence and Maybelle Russell Henderson and passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 12, 2013, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Oklahoma City.
 
She attended and graduated from Enid High School in 1961. She attended Northwestern State University and received her B.A. in education in 1965. She obtained her master’s degree from Phillips University, with special studies in library science. Lori taught high school in Perry, Okla., Kingman, Kan., Arkansas City, Kan., and the last 19 years at Enid High School, for a total of 30 years. She was a cheerleader coach in Arkansas City and Perry, and established and coached the Belles of the Plains girls drill team at Enid High School. She was chosen Teacher of the Year by the students, and retired from Enid High in 1996.
 
She married Dr. Max Wilson of Enid in 1994. Lori was an avid writer. She was a well-known lecturer on the subject of angels and dreams, and authored a book on the topic. She was an active member of Oakwood Christian Church and a member of the Women’s AMBUCS Chapter in Enid. After moving to Edmond in 2001, she joined the Red Hat Society and was their Queen for two years. She was a member of Crossing Community Church in Oklahoma City.
 
She is survived by her husband, Max of the home; brother, Max Henderson and wife Kay of Enid; stepchildren, Debbie Wilson Chatham of Seattle, Wash., and Mike Wilson and wife Pauline of Stillwater; niece, Amy Bollinger and husband Neil of Oklahoma City; nephew, Jake Henderson of Woodward; a grand-niece and grand-nephew, and a stepniece, Mary Catherine Wilson of New York City. She was preceded in death by her parents.
