The funeral for Walter Max George Wehrenberg will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Federated Church in Kingfisher. The Rev. Charles Smith will officiate.

Burial will follow in Kingfisher Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.

He was born June 8, 1910, near Loyal, to W.C. and Minnie Wehrenberg and died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, in Kingfisher Regional Hospital. He graduated eighth grade from Prairie Star District 35 Northwest of Loyal. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Church, now Peace United Church of Christ. He married Leona Emma Burchardt July 24, 1932. He was a farmer. He worked for Blair-Corneleson John Deere Co. In 1968, he was employed by Kingfisher Regional Hospital in the maintenance department. He retired in 1989 but stayed active in the employee auxiliary. He was a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He was a member of the Wheatbelt Toastmaster Club and achieved his Competent Toastmaster Certificate at 94.

Surviving are one daughter, Roberta Seaton; one brother, Lesly; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchilderen. He was preceded in death by his wife Leona, two children. four brothers, three sisters; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Russell-Murray Hospice, Country Wood Assisted Living Center, Kingfisher Regional Hospital, Federated Church of Kingfisher or Peace United Church of Christ in Loyal.
