Jenny "Lois" (Sharp) Riley

A funeral for Jenny "Lois" Riley, 80, of Meno, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at Central Assembly of God Church with Pastor Kevin Ward and Rev. Lindell Warren officiating. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. in Kingfisher Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
She was born to Thomas Norton and Nellie (Clark) Sharp on Aug. 8, 1928, in El Reno and died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at McAlester Regional Hospital.
Lois attended schools in Dover and El Reno, graduating from El Reno High School. On Feb. 9, 1948, she married Ira Thor Riley in El Reno. They lived in Cordell for several years before moving to Meno and then to Hydro, where Ira managed the local co-ops. Lois attended cake decorating classes at Southwestern College and operated a small cake decorating business out of her home. After Ira's retirement in 1989, the couple moved back to Meno. Lois was an active member of Central Assembly of God Church, where she participated in Star Widows, Seniors Group and women's bible study. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting.
She is survived by four daughters, Lethea Heffner of Lenior, N.C., Irla Nell Lowe and husband Michael of Waxahachie, TX, Joanna Slagell and husband Dwight of Hydro, and Loretta Abercrombie and husband Kurt of McAlester; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas N. Sharp of Coleman, TX; and one sister, Erma Nell Kay of Sparta, TN.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Ira in 2006, and one brother, Berry Stephens.
