ENID - The funeral for Velma B. Murray, 88, of Kingfisher, will be 1 p.m. today at Wannamaker Baptist Church, Dover. The Rev. Edmond Rollins will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home.
She was born Dec. 26, 1921, in Emmanuel to Henry and Evalena Jones and died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in Kingfisher.
She attended school in Geary, El Reno and Kingfisher and graduated from Douglas High School in 1941.
She marred Ed Cub Murray. He died after 42 years of marriage.
She raised her baby brother, Verle. She worked in churches, community action programs, Western District and was president of Douglas League. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kingfisher, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and Wannamaker Baptist Church, Dover.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
