A memorial service for Don G. Johnson, 76, of Irvine, Calif., will be 10:30 a.m. today in Kingfisher Cemetery. Tom Leatherman will officiate. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.

He was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Omega to Mollie I. and Holden Johnson and died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at his home in Irvine.

He spent his school years in Oklahoma and Texas and moved to California to attend X-ray school in 1951. He married his wife, Sue, Oct. 8, 1953. He served in the military until April 1955. Following his discharge, he worked as an X-ray technician until he returned to college in Edmond to obtain his degree in medical technology.

He started his own medical laboratory in 1963 and remained in the medical profession until he sold his laboratory and retired in 1990.

Surviving are his wife, Sue; three children, Don Jr., Mike and Lori; two sisters, Shirley Caruso and Patricia Sherman; and six grandchildren.
