The funeral for John Frank Ables, 86, of Dallas, will be 10 a.m. today, June 3, 2009, at Sanders Funeral Chapel, Kingfisher. The Rev. Rick Malam will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery .

He was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Soper to Mark and Christine Beauchamp Ables and died Friday, May 29, 2009, at his home. He was raised in the Dover/Kingfisher area.
He joined the Army Air Corps Feb. 17, 1943, during World War II. He was stationed in England, where he met and married. They later divorced. He was discharged March 23, 1946.

He married Jenny Mathews June 29, 1946. They moved to Kansas City, Mo. She died March 3, 1990.

He married Joyce Stewart Fuller Aug. 30, 2001, in Ames. They moved to Waukomis . He worked for Campbells 66 Express, retiring in 1983.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Christine Walker of England and Catherine Wilson of Kansas City; one son, John Mark Ables of Camdenton, Mo.; three sisters, Velma Toscano of Orlando, Fla., Sharon Yarborough of Holdenville and Jessica East of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Luther Ables of Olathe, Kan., and Austin Ables of Big Spring, Texas; and two grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jenny, he was preceded in death by one brother.
