The funeral for George Boyd Payne,78, of Guthrie, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church of Guthrie. Dennis E. Clark will officiate.

Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements are by Smith-Gallo Funeral Home of Guthrie.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1928, to James and Ethel Payne and died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006. He served in the Army in the 45th Infantry Division. He graduated from Oklahoma A&M College and served as president of Guaranty Bank in Oklahoma City. He owned Boyd's Grill in Guthrie and operated a bait shop in Guthrie.

Surviving are one son, Tommy of Guthrie; one daughter, Tammy Skaife of Plano, Texas; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Guthrie.
