Burial will follow in the Hennessey Cemetery under direction
of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
She was born December 31, 1920, in Garber to Doctor L. E.
and Ruth Ketcger Beard and died late Saturday evening, May
6, 2000, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
Peggy was a graduate of Garber high school in 1938 and of
the Moore Beauty College of Enid in 1940. Then she worked
for Mrs. Chet Dewey in Garber.
During World War II, she worked for Beechcraft in Wichita,
Kansas to help with the war effort.
On January 6, 1946, she married Donald E. "Dink" Moore at
the First Christian Church of Garber. He preceded her in
death on December 29, 1978. They made their home in
Hennessey for 33 years. She was employed by the Cimarron
Electric Cooperative of Kingfisher.
After the death of her husband, Peggy moved to Enid, to be
close to her family.
She is survived by one daughter; Donna Chancellor and her
husband Jim of Enid, two sons; Mike and Tommy Moore and a
special friend Lisa and her son Austin all of Enid, four
grandchildren; Chad Chancellor and his wife Lorinda of
Sulphur, Oklahoma, Minka Betchan and her husband Jay of
Enid, Chandra Moore of Camphill, Pennsylvania, Christy Brown
and her husband Tyson of Ada, Oklahoma, four great –
grandchildren, one sister; Belle Gene "Betty" Linton of
Enid.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband
Dink.
Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma
Medical Research Foundation, Diabetes Division.
