Hennessey – The funeral for Eva Lou Melton, 81, will be at 2 PM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Dr. Don Rogers will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hennessey Cemetery under direction of Cordry – Sisson Funeral Home.

She was born October 23, 1915, east of Hennessey in the Columbia community to Brady and Daisy McCollum Henry and died Saturday, September 27, 1997, at the Hennessy Care Center. She graduated from Hennessey high school in 1934.

On June 30, 1986, she married Merlin Victor Melton at Oklahoma City. He died June 26, 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hennessey, the Rebekah Lodge and a Bridge Club.

Surviving are four sons, Jerry of Enid, George of Lake Dallas, Texas, and Sam and Jack, both of Hennessey; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great – grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Center of Hennessey.
