Darrel Martin

The funeral for Darrel Martin, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at First Baptist Church officiated by Jimmy Berkenbile and Todd Cameron.

Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at the funeral home Friday and continue through Sunday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.


Darrel was born at Tryon, Okla., on Dec 30, 1929, to Homer and Nola Basham Martin and died Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at Hennessey Care Center.
 
He married Pauline Rodman in Cushing on Feb. 27, 1955.

Darrel was an avid gardener and enjoyed OU football.

He is survived by his wife Pauline of the home; two daughters, Paula Patrick of Kingfisher, Denise Penrod and husband Tim of Sugarland, Texas; five grandchildren, Bryan Patrick, Kerri Washam, David Penrod and wife McKenzie, Mark Penrod, Kevin Penrod; five great-grandchildren, Blake Patrick, Chace Washam, Matthew Penrod, Makayla Penrod, Vergel Penrod; one half-brother Harlin Martin, one half-sister Glenda Martin and several nieces and nephews.

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
