Ernest John Maly
Mass of Christian Burial for Ernest John Maly, 79, of Waukomis, will be 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bison. The Rev. Roberto Quant will officiate. Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Army. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born July 28, 1926, in Hennessey to Joseph and Mary Vculek Maly and died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.
He was raised and educated in Hennessey. He enlisted in the Army and served in both World War II and the Korean conflict. Following his discharge, he worked as an undersheriff for Kingfisher County Sheriff?s office. He later worked for Montgomery Ward in Enid and then was co-owner of Waukomis Hardware from 1971 to 1983. He retired from Waukomis Public Schools in 1992.
He married Dorothy Irene Staggs July 7, 1949. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Catholic Workmen.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, of the home; two daughters, Debbie Turner of Enid and Trudy Winter of Ada; one brother, Mathew Maly of Hennessey; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, two sisters and six brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to American Heart Association.
