Wanda Jean (Brawley) Haskins went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 27 with family at her bedside, after a short illness.
 

She was born June 6, 1932, in Oakwood, OK to Rev. Harold Brawley and Rev. Berta. As a preacher’s child, she moved a lot while graduating high school in Braman, OK where she met the love of her life, LeRoy Haskins.  They were married on December 27, 1951. They had 58 wonderful years together. 

While raising four rowdy children, she went back to school and earned her LPN degree in 1973. She moved to Okeene, OK, and worked as director of nursing at Buchanan Nursing Home until retirement.

She loved serving the Lord at various Methodist churches, most recently at Asbury United Methodist Church in Ardmore, OK as she was active in choir, working with youth, directing plays, and UMW.  She went on several mission trips and loved Christian clowning at Special Olympics.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Glen Haskins, and sisters, Leota Winchester and Berta O’Donnell.

Survivors include daughters LaVerna and husband Mark Cushman of Norman, OK. Betty and husband Tim Taber of Ardmore, OK. Sons LeRoy and wife Alice Haskins of Edmond, OK. Larry and wife Brenda Haskins of Enid, OK. 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.


The funeral for Wanda Jean Brawley Haskins, 89, will be Thursday, December 2 at 11am at the Hennessey United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Randal Richards & Rev. P. J. Stewart.  

Burial will follow at the Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be at Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home Wednesday, December 1 st from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Pallbearers: Matt Kloiber, Gabe Seaton, Matt Seaton, Ryan Seaton, Austin Haskins, Aaron Taber. Honorary Pallbearers: Adam Smith, Byron Bonner, David Wooten.
 

Service will be live-streamed at Asbury United Methodist Church through the Cordry-Gritz Facebook page.
