Ruby (Allen) Gibbons

The funeral for Ruby Gibbons, 81, was August 16, 2021, at First Baptist Church. Tim Taylor officiated.

Burial followed at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Ruby was born in Wildhorse, Oklahoma, on March 24, 1940, to Tom and Louise Gaylor Allen and died Friday, August 13, 2021, at her daughter's home in Enid.

She married Leon Gibbons in Hominy on July 3, 1957.

Ruby is survived by her husband Leon of the home; three daughters, Debbie Gritz of Enid, Vickie Elmer of Montgomery, Texas, Connie Walterscheidt of Enid; one son, Leon H. "Hoppy" Gibbons of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Carolyn Huckleby of Oolagah, Thomasene Powell of Enid; nineteen grandchildren; and thirty-three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Gibbons, her granddaughter Tisha Gibbons, one brother, and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
