The memorial service for Melvin Franks, 86 will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Hennessey Cemetery Pavilion officiated by Vernon Racer.

Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
 

Melvin was born at Bowlegs, Oklahoma on January 23, 1935, to Melvin L. and Grace Crull Franks and died Sunday, August 22, 2021, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.

Melvin married Connie Wells in Foyil, Oklahoma on May 17, 1960. 

Melvin served on the Hennessey School Board for several years.


He is survived by his wife Connie of the home; two daughters Brenda Edmoundson and husband Mark of Bixby, Janice Cosper and husband Blake of Nixa, Missouri; one son Joel Franks of Hennessey; four grandchildren Nicholas Edmoundson, Gillian Edmoundson, Cody Cosper, Katie Cosper; one brother D. A. Franks of Hennessey, and one sister Sue Carpenter of Seminole.
 

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Jack Franks, Dean Franks, and Charles Franks.


Memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
