Ruth Ellen (Bailey) Davis was born June 20, 1939 to George LeRoy and Lois Alene (McVicker) Bailey. She attended and graduated from Hennessey High School in May 1958.

Ruth worked in a bakery and local cafes until she met and married Jim Duncan. To this union a son, George Charles Duncan was born. She later married Henry Earl (Junior) Davis. She became a seamstress and was well known in the local communities for her gift of sewing, as won many ribbons at the county fair.

As a result of severe diabetes her vision was badly impaired, but she did most of her detail work by touch. She was an avid story teller and wrote a few short stories in hopes of publishing, but it never happened.

She would read for hours with a large magnifying glass. She loved her dogs and cats and fed all the strays while she was still at home.

Ill health made it necessary for her to move to Hennessey Care Center in May 2011. Many new friends were made there, and she loved the games and gatherings that were held, especially the ones with food involved. Her illness took a toll on her tired body.

On January 5, 2019 she joined her husband Junior, son Charlie, parents, grandparents, in-laws and many loved ones in Heaven.

Surviving are one brother Clinton Bailey and wife Connie; three sisters Dorothy Iven and husband Marvin, Judy Weber, Evelyn Lewis and husband Larry and lots of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday January 10, 2019 at Union Chapel Church.

Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Hennessey Public Library or Union Chapel Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
