Sergeant Emmett Eli Buzard, of Waukomis, was
killed in action in France on September 26, last, according to a
message received by his parents here last Sunday from the War
Department.
Sergeant Buzard was in the June 5, 1917, registration. He left
for Camp Travis, Texas, on February 28, 1918, and landed in
France about 1 July. He was a member of the 90th Division, and
25 years old at the time of his death.
Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Buzard, and sister, Mrs.
Ruth Buzard, who reside here, he leaves three other sisters and
two brothers. He is the first Waukomis boy to be killed in
action.
