The funeral for Dewayne Bohnstedt, 80, Hennessey, was at 2 pm Friday, June 19, 2015 at Hennessey High School Auditorium officiated by Rev. Jimmy Berkenbile. 

Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Dwayne was born in Omaha, Neb. June 29, 1934 to Obead Daniel and Edna Idessa Hobbs Bohnstedt and died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home west of Hennessey. He married Kate Pipps on July 9, 1955. 

He served in the U. S. Marine Corps in the Korean Conflict from 1952 until 1955.

Dewayne is survived by one daughter, Debbie Gaither and husband Clyde of Dover; 10 grandchildren, David Macy, Logan Macy and his wife Melissa, Ashli Cooper and husband husband Ryan, Jodi Turner and husband Chad, Chance Gaither and wife Stormee, Kati Walters and husband Jackie, Daniel Wymore and wife Jennifer, Tyler Broyles, Brandie Witzke, Coltun Witzke, and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  
 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kate; two daughters, Diane Macy and Rae Wymore; one son, Logan Bohnstedt, and one infant grandson..

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fans for the Elderly with the funeral home serving as custodian of the Fund.
