Jessie Caroline (Stoner) Nauman

Nauman, Jessie Caroline Stoner, 85, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in Norman.  She was born November 12, 1926 in Okarche, Oklahoma to Elbert and Veva (Hamand) Stoner and graduated from Harrah High School, Harrah, Oklahoma.   

Caroline was born and raised in Oklahoma. She married Warren at Tinker Air Force Base in January of 1945 and after the war they moved to Warren’s home state of California. In their early years, Caroline, Warren and the family lived in California, Virginia, Germany and finally back to Oklahoma.

Caroline loved Oklahoma. Her grandfather was in the Oklahoma land run of 1889 and after Warren passed away, Caroline decided to stay in Norman and spend the rest of her life being an anchor for her family.

She had a life-long love of aviation and took aeronautics in high school from her father.  She joined the civil air patrol in 1943 because she wanted to learn to fly. Warren was a pilot as are both sons and a grandson, and her daughter currently works for FAA.

Caroline is survived by her children, James Nauman, Marilee Nauman and husband George Baty, Diana Nauman Williamson and husband Keith and John Nauman and wife Linda; grandchildren, Jesse Nauman, Mathew Nauman, James Nauman, Jr. and wife Savanah, Sara Baty, Katherine Xavier and husband Aaron, Brian Williamson and wife Jamie and Jennifer Stilwell and husband Jeremy; and great grandchildren, Cyana Williamson, Jackson Nauman, Olivia Nauman, Hayden Stilwell and Reilly Stilwell. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren on July 16, 1973; and two sisters, Evelyn Richardson and Jennabell Marie Davenport. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookhaven Extensive Care for the loving support she received in the last year of her life. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P O Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, ASPCA, attn:  Linda Tiramani, 520 8th Floor, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018 or Cashion First United Methodist Church, 204 S. 3rd, Cashion, OK 73016.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 in the Cashion United Methodist Church with interment following in the Cashion Cemetery, Cashion, Oklahoma.  Arrangements for Caroline and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at  the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
