Arnold Lee "Buck" Adams

Arnold Lee “Buck” Adams was born October 21, 1923 in Lovell, Oklahoma to Luther and Minnie (Powers) Adams. He passed away on March 3, 2009 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 9 days.

Buck was born and raised in the Lovell / Crescent area and attended Big Four Schools. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in World War II. After returning from the war he married Opal Anderson on January 4, 1948 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He then worked as a cotton farmer until he went to work for the Railroad in the mid 50’s. After retiring he enjoyed coyote huntin’, fishin’ and playin’ the guitar. He also enjoyed playing music at the local nursing homes. Buck was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Crescent and a member of the VFW.

Survivors include, his wife of 61 years, Opal of the home; two daughters, Linda Adams of Cashion and Debbie Adams of Inola, OK; two sons, Robert Adams of Stillwater and Clayton Adams of Cashion; four sisters, Lucy Seaton of Cashion, Rosa John of Edmond, Margie Heird of Guthrie, and Willena Miller of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Lee Adams of Kingfisher and Shirley Adams of Enid; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Cashion with Pastor Mark LeMarr officiating. Burial will follow in the Cashion Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
