Hennessey – Jerry F. Vaverka, 58, died Friday at his home.

Wake services will be held at 7:30 PM Sunday in the Cordry and Son Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hennessey with the Rev. John W. Scheller officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Hennessey under direction of Cordry and Son Funeral Home.

Vaverka was born east of Hennessey and was a lifelong farmer here.  He was graduated from Hennessey high school.

He married Katherine Lucile Hill August 12, 1942 and Hennessey. She died June 2, 1970.

He also was preceded in death by his father and a sister.

Vaverka served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2270, the Disabled Veterans, the Tin Containers Association, Oklahoma Numismatic Association, National Rifle Association, Bass Masters Fishing Association.

He married Goldee Siegman Jolly July 22, 1971.

Survivors include his wife, Goldee, of the home; his mother, Frances Vaverka, Hennessey; six sons, Jerry Allan, Cottage Grove, Oregon, Frank, Bison, Sam of Tulsa, Brian, Blackwell, and Bruce and Pat of Hennessey; two daughters, Victoria Swisher, Kingfisher and Catherine Troyer, Hennessey; two sisters, Anna Lightie and Frances Grace of Hennessey; and 11 grandchildren.
