Mildred Ann Shimanek, 90, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2023.
 

Mildred was born Dec. 31, 1932, on the family farm to Ed and Frances Havlik Shimanek.
 

She lived on that same family farm east of Hennessey for the entirety of her life.
 

Mildred was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
 

She spent her working years with Dinkler Drug and later at LaPorte Pharmacy.
 

Mildred is survived by one sister, Mary Stroda of Ramona, Kan., and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Shimanek of Hennessey.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Benedict, Raymond, Edward and Thomas; sisters Martha Mages, Georgia Shimanek and Wilma Shimanek; and many nieces and nephews.
 

Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Oct. 13, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Edward Menasco.

Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Cordry- Gritz Funeral Home.
