Robert Clifton Barker, 83, was born Nov. 9, 1940. He left his earthly home on Nov. 7, 2024, in Katy, Texas.

Robert (Bob) Barker was born in Dover to Clarence Barker and Mildred Grape. He was a husband, father, grandfather, son and friend.

Bob was a man of faith who led by example.

In his early years, he was a typical farm boy who loved cars. He played baseball in high school and was in Future Farmers of America.

He was a diesel mechanic by trade, but made his career in agriculture as a product support manager for Case-International Harvester.

In November 1960, he was set up on a blind date with Jane Waters. They had many adventures and were married on March 24, 1962.

They soon started a family and lived in a few states before settling in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1980. After retirement, Bob and Jane decided to move to Marshfield, Mo., where they resided for 14 years before moving to Katy, Texas, four years ago to be near their children.

Bob and Jane were married for 62 years.

Bob’s faith led him to teach Sunday School and serve as a church deacon for many years.

He loved to tell dad jokes or ask you a brain teaser.

Although his work required travel weekly across the state of Texas, he always made time for family and weekend trips.

He never complained and had a positive outlook on life.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jane Barker,; children Kevin (Jeanne Wallace) Barker of Richmond, Texas, Scott (Monica) Barker of Buda, Texas, and Kari (Chris) Bradley of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren Lauren Barker of Katy, Texas, Tenay Barker of Huntington Beach, Calif., Evan Barker of The Woodlands, Texas, Ethen Mendez of the Dallas area, Mason Bradley of Beaumont, Texas, and Conner Bradley of Lake Charles, La.
