Anthony Edward Street, 57 of Tonkawa/Ponca City passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Anthony was born to Willie and Sharon (Caughlin) Street in Fort Worth, Texas on February 18, 1964. He was a member of the Tonkawa Tribe, a descendent of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and a descendent of Chief Big Elk of the Ponca Tribe.

Services will be held following the Traditional noon Feast at the Tonkawa Tribal Gymnasium on Monday July 12, 2021. Rosary Services will be held at the Tonkawa Tribal Gymnasium, Friday Evening July 9, 2021, at 7 p.m. Wake services will be held on both Saturday Evening, July 9th and July 10th at 7.p.m. Burial will be held at the Tonkawa Tribal Cemetery with arrangements under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ryan Street, Taylor Street, Nick Street, Brandon Jimenez, Monte Combrink, Brandon Steeprock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shelby Street, Trevor Street, Bryson Swanson, Scott Street and Clint Owens.

Anthony attended Tonkawa public school and Seqouyah High School. Anthony grew up in the Tonkawa Tribal Community (Fort Oakland) since 1972. In Anthony’s younger years he was an outstanding athlete. He loved to play jokes on family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.

He started out working in the oil field until he went to work for NOICE as a mill rights. Then he worked for the Tonkawa Tribe in the environmental department. He then became the Tonkawa Tribal President from 2005 until 2008, in that time he developed the property for the current casino and enterprises that generated revenue for the Tribal Government and Tribal Members.

His companion of 35 years, Roberta Steeprock and he shared four children, Michelle, Michael, Sharon and Shelby.

He is survived by his companion, Roberta; two daughters, Michelle and Sharon and one son, Shelby; two brothers, Willie Jr. and wife LuAnn Street, Edward (Eddie) and wife, Brooke Street, his Sister Kristy Street and brother-in-law Travis O’dell, one Aunt Virginia (Combrink) and Rod Swanson; one grandson Aaron Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and one son Michael.
