December 8, 1950 - October 23, 2020

Monty J. Anderson, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on October 23, 2020 at his residence at the age of 69 years.

Monty Jay Anderson was born on December 8, 1950 in Blackwell, Oklahoma the son of Howard Mundell Anderson and Louella “Peggy” (Hawkins) Anderson.

He attended Blackwell Public Schools and went on to enlist in the United States Army, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. Following his service, he returned to Blackwell and worked in the oil field and in construction.

Monty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going to the casino. Monty was an avid OU fan who had many friends and will be missed by many.

He is survived by children, Monica Bell, Brandon Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Jessica Anderson; siblings, Deanna Senseman (Chris), Kelly Anderson Monroe, Terry Anderson; two grandchildren, Jarred Burton and Hanna Boyer; one great-grandchild, Laiden Meyers; several nieces and nephews; as well as three grandchildren that live out of state and numerous other extended family members.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Connie Bowling, Randy Bowling and J.R. Anderson.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Lanny Jobe officiating.

Honorary casket bearers will be Richard Looper, John Riley, Bernard Vowel, Jim Dandridge, Dennis Thompson, Fred Anderson, Chuck Glass, Cotton Trantham and Mark Turner.
