Joe V. Winkelman, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Saturday, May 05, 2012 at his home. He was 82 years of age.

Joe was born September 15, 1929 at Washunga Bay. He grew up in the Ponca City area and was a longtime employee of the City of Ponca City. He retired as the ground supervisor in the Parks and Recreation Department. In earlier years Joe enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an accomplished trap shooter.

He is survived by his three sons, Mike Winkelman, Jerry Winkelman and Tim Winkelman, all of Ponca City 2 grandchildren, Cory Winkelman and Sara Winkelman 3 great grandchildren, Alexis, Halee and Hanna. He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Billie Maxine Winkelman one infant son and several brothers and sisters.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Mike Sweetman presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
