Clyde Walter Wimsett of Blackwell, Oklahoma passed away on the evening of January 12, 2016 at St. Frances Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years.

Clyde Walter Wimsett was born on September 9, 1939, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to Charles Orville and Bessie Mae (Woodin) Wimsett. He grew in Oilton and attended Oilton Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1957. He joined the United Sates Navy on February 2, 1960 and after being honorable discharged, he married the love of his life. Iva Lea Buxton on May 26, 1969, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. They first made their home in Ponca City, before moving to Tonkawa, finally settling in Blackwell. They had one daughter, Ona Marie Wimsett Boise on November 19, 1970. He worked at Bill Mocks Flooring, Whitmores, Blackwell High School as a Janitor, and retired from Thornapple Valley. He enjoyed camping, wood working, gardening and growing flowers. He loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. He was a member of the Tabernacle church in Blackwell. He loved his lord and church family.

He is survived by one daughter, Ona Maria Boise of Blackwell; two granddaughters, Alison Brookshire and Cynthia Boise; two great grandchildren, Brooklynn Nicole Gabbert and Bentley Ryan Courtney; one sister, Charlene Mock of Ponca City; one brother, Harold Wimsett of Ponca City; and many noumerous nieces and nephews.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Iva Lea Wimsett; his parents; and three brothers, Orville Wimsett, Bill Wimsett and Claude Wimsett.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 16, 2016, at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Ponca City, Oklahoma, with Rev. Robert Johnson, Tabernacle Church, Blackwell, Oklahoma, officiating.

Casketbearers will be Paul Carbajal, George McCoy, Kenneth Boise, Scotty Buxton, Earl Beard and DeWayne Chambers.

Iva Lea Wimsett of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Friday evening, November 15, 2013, in the Blackwell Regional Hospital Emergency Room at the age of 68 years.

Iva Lea Wimsett was born on February 11, 1945 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Ivan Edward and Annie Ruth (Gabbert) Buxton. She grew up in Ponca City, attending the Ponca City Public Schools and graduating with the class of 1964. After graduation, she move to Arkansas City, Kansas, and worked as a nurse’s aide. She then moved to Joplin, Missouri for a short time before moving back to Ponca City. She met the love of her life, Clyde Walter Wimset and they were united in marriage on May 26, 1969, in the Ranch Drive Baptist Church, Ponca City. They first made their home in Ponca, before moving to Tonkawa and finally settling in Blackwell. In this union, brought them one daughter, Ona Maria Wimsett, and an adopted son, Michael Joe Wimsett. She returned to work, working at the Blackwell Regional Hospital until retirement for health reasons. She enjoyed camping, her dogs, and cooking/baking. She was a member of the Tabernacle Church and teaching the Busy B’s Sunday School Class. She loved her Lord and church and family.

She is survived by her husband Clyde Wimsett of Blackwell, Oklahoma; one daughter, Ona Boise of Braman; one son, Michael Wimsett ; four sisters, Mary Ruth Hoose of Blackwell, Glenda Mills of Burbank, Janet Dolch of Winfield, Kansas, and LaWanda Psikal of Ponca City; two granddaughters, Alison Brookshire and Cynthia Boise; one great granddaughter, Brooklynn Nicole Gabbert, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Earl Buxton.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the Resthaven Memorial Parks Cemetery, Ponca City, Oklahoma, with Rev. Robert Johnson, Tabernacle Church, officiating.
