Betty Jo Myers Whitfield passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 in Ponca City. She was 87 years old.

Betty was born on May 11, 1930 in Perry, OK to George H. and Clara Pagel. She married Charles "Bob" Myers on September 17, 1950. Following his death, she married James Whitfield on March 15, 2008 in Eureka Springs, AR.

She was a member of Ranch Drive Baptist Church in Ponca City. She enjoyed fishing, ceramics, collecting rocks, and traveling. Betty Jo was also an avid bowler.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Bob Myers.

She is survived by her husband, James Whitfield of Ponca City, her close friends, Bob and Elaine Costello of Ponca City, step-daughter, Naomi and husband Mike Melichar of Spring, TX, step-son, William Whitfield of Bartlesville, step-granddaughter, Andrea Burris, step-grandson, Jared Padgett, three step-great grandchildren, Anthony, Shayla, and Xavier Burris, sister, Shirley Klinger of Marland, nephews, Gary and wife Susie Klinger of Marland, and Rick and wife, Terry Klinger of Newkirk.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Ranch Drive Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5-8pm and a visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6-8pm at Trout Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made in Betty's honor to Ranch Drive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1385, Ponca City, OK 74602 or Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave., Ponca City, OK 74601.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
