Elsie Voleta Cooper Thomas, 100, of Ponca City passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. She was born on June 6, 1917 in Kellyville, OK to William Wilson Cooper and Lucinda H. Peacock Cooper. She met the love of her life, Emmit E. Thomas and they were married on December 24, 1936, in Kellyville. The couple made their home in Sapulpa OK before moving to Ponca City in 1943. She selflessly committed her life to raising her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family, ministering and mothering everyone she came into contact with. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by two sons Don (Ginny) Thomas of Ponca City and Sam (Karen ) Thomas of Sherman, TX, two daughters Melva (Thane) Emmons of Ponca City and Cynthia (Andy) Crowe also of Ponca City, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons Charles Thomas and Guy Thomas, one sister and six brothers.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Grace Tabernacle of Praise located at 1601 E Coleman road here in Ponca City. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. Pastor David Cale will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
