Billy "Bill" Eugene Thomas, age 57, passed away on June 11, 1994, at Deaconess Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Bill fought a short and courageous battle against cancer, refusing to give in without a fight. He is now in the arms of his Lord where he has to fight no more. He was a beloved son, brother, father and grandfather who was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Thomas was born November 27, 1936, in the Onapa, Oklahoma, to O. E. And Geraldine Thomas. For many years Bill made his home in Moore, where he developed and owned his own company, Thomas Wire Rope. He was also a Jockey Club member at Remington Park and a major contributor to Blue Ribbon Downs where he spent time enjoying the many race horses he owned.

Bill is survived by his parents of Checotah, Oklahoma; fiancιe Paula Pennington of more; former wife Wanda Thomas of Moore; brother and sister – in – law Raymond and Nina Thomas of Checotah; brother and sister – in – law Jack and Pat Thomas of Louisville, Texas; brother Charlie Thomas of Checotah; daughter and son – in – law Debbie and Kyle Marr of Moore; daughter and son – in – law Paige and Gib Knight of Norman; son and daughter – in – law Billy and Elaine Thomas of Bethany; son and future daughter – in – law Darrell Thomas and Leni Nicholich of Waco, Texas; granddaughters Lindsy and Leslie Clothier and Taylor Marr of Moore; and a host of other loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services were at 10 AM Tuesday, June 14, at the bill Eisenhower Funeral Home with interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Leonard McMinn and Don Thompson officiated.

Pallbearers where Jim Brown, John Bridwell, Greg Jarrell, Alfred Downey, Doctor John Whelling and Wayne Wampler. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Sisk and David Fry.
