H. Marie Tapp, longtime Ponca City resident died Monday, March 9, 2020 in Murphy, Texas. She was 92. She moved from Ponca City to Murphy, Texas in 2012.

Mrs. Tapp was born January 19, 1928 Northwest of Ponca City, the daughter of Fred E. and Hattie M. (Godberson) Cox. She went to Excelsior rural school and Ponca City schools, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1945. She and William L. Tapp were married May 16, 1948 at the Second Baptist Church in Ponca City. He preceded her in death March 30, 2002. In her early years, she worked for Southwestern Bell and Lee Way Motor Freight and later for Ponca City Utility Authority. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons Dennis W. Tapp and wife Sue of Jones, OK. Mark A. Tapp and wife Janet of Murphy, TX. Four Granddaughters, Andrea Morris and Husband Brad, Errin Sieling and husband Zach, Karen Owens and husband Cody, Kristen Silhavey and husband Dan. She had eight Great Grand Children. Gage Morris. Ethan, Quinn and Dylan Sieling. Gracie, Gentry, Gwyneth Owens. Molly Silhavey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister Lucille Cox and four brothers, Neal, Phillip, William and Paul Cox.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects from 1-8pm on Sunday March 15, 2020, with the family present to greet friends from 6-7 PM at Trout Funeral Home.

A graveside ceremony to celebrate Marie's life will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, March 16, 2020 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca City where she will be laid to rest next to her husband William.

Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
