August 23, 1956 - September 30, 2018

Max Allan Suggs of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Sunday, September 30, 2018, in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 62 years.

Max Allan Suggs was born on August 23, 1956, in Fresno, California, to Robert Marian Mitchum and Lillie Marie (Rowell) Suggs. As a young boy he moved with his family to Arkansas. Following his education he moved to Blackwell where he began working in the oilfields. He married Edna Viola Massie on August 6, 1997, in Horatio, Arkansas, and they settled in Ponca City before moving to Blackwell to make their home. He enjoyed working on cars and attending various car shows.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Suggs of Blackwell; a son, Bob Hurley of Blackwell; five daughters, Marsha Wedman of Blackwell, Patricia McCulloch of Billings, Brandy Epperly of Blackwell, Kayla Suggs of Blackwell, and Kimberly Suggs of Blackwell; a brother, Vernie Suggs of Grove; seven sisters, Linda Stevens of Garber, Louise Harris of Garber, Patricia Randolph of Texas, Becky Kucera of Enid, Vivian Suggs of Blackwell, Virginia Kerstein of Garber, and Ann Partridge of Arkanas; fifteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vickie Suggs; and two brothers, Cecil and Robert Suggs.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 8th in the First Baptist Church in Blackwell with Rev. Randy Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in Ponca City.

Casketbearers will be Jeff Butzback, Paul Epperly, Justin Epperly, Kevin Epperly, James Suggs and John Kelly.
