Mary B. Jean Spencer, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed Sunday morning, January 16, 2011 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 91.

Jean was born July 19, 1919 at Yale, Oklahoma, the daughter of Adam Weber and Maggie Matthews Weber. She moved with her family to Ponca City at the age of nine where she graduated from Ponca City High School. She was married to Thomas Spencer on July 20, 1947 with the couple establishing their first home in Ponca City.

Jean was a homemaker that enjoyed playing bridge, watching golf and football on television. She always enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past member of the Ponca City Country Club, several bridge clubs, mothers clubs and garden clubs.

She is survived by her soninlaw, Terry Thoem of Katy, Texas two stepsons, Jim Spencer and wife, Lucia, of Enid, Oklahoma and Thomas Spencer and wife, Cathy, of Moorpark, California five grandchildren, Ashley Eder, Kimberly McWhorter, Tyler Thoem, Jeff Spencer and Mark Spencer nine great grandchildren brotherinlaw Johnny Robino and sisterinlaw Wanda Stout and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband two daughters, Sigrid Thoem and Judy Hogue one son, Thomas Hogue one sister, Dixie Robino and one brother, Jim Weber.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev Mike Smith, pastor of the First United Methodist Church presiding. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be her family, Jim Spencer, Terry Thoem, Jeff Spencer, Mark Spencer, Tyler Thoem, Cash McWhorter and Fritz Eder.
