Cheryl Lynn Sober, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. She was 67 years of age.

Cheryl was born February 12, 1945 in Ponca City, the daughter of Ervin Leroy Humble and Mildred Maxcene Almy Humble. She was a 1963 graduate of Ponca City High School. She was married to Everette Sober Jr. on July 27, 1963 in Ponca City. She was formerly employed some 18 years with Bakewell Accounting as a data processor.

She was a member of the Osage Heights Baptist Church and past member of the Red Hat Society. Her enjoyments were her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her Schnauzer dog Fritz, working crossword puzzles and in earlier years, bowling. Another enjoyment of Cheryls was her love for Peanut MMs as she would eat some every night.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred, of Ponca City two daughters, Lisa Lynne Worley and husband, Randy, and Melissa Young and husband, Wesley one son, Justin Sober and his wife Chawnte, all of Ponca City two sisters, Pamela Lee Buntt and Patricia Louise Sledge, both of Ponca City four grandchildren, Cara Dunn, Doug Dunn Jr., Jace Everett Sober and Jenna M. Sober two great grandchildren, Sheldon DeNoya and Karsee Cochran. She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Osage Heights Baptist Church, 142 Tapp Road with Pastor Harold Hutchins presiding. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
