Patsy Smithheisler of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at her home at the age of 77 years.

Patsy Jo McAlister was born on February 8, 1944, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of John H. McAlister and Dorothy E. (Hindes) McAlister.

She graduated from Marland High School in 1962. She married Jim Forrest Smithheisler on March 1, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Jimilea Jansson (Tony); grandchildren, Shane Jansson (Elissa), Meghan Jansson (Stephen Nelson), Keaton Simmons; great-grandchildren, Cameron Jansson, Kaydance Jansson, Jaydeince Boatner and Cage Jansson; as well as numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Becky Simmons; and siblings, John McAlister, Jr., Donna Boyer, and Jackie Littou.

Patsy worked for Conoco Pipe Line Co. in Ponca City, Oklahoma, from 1978-1998. She was a member of the Bliss Homemakers Extension Group, serving as President, Secretary and Treasurer numerous times. She also served as a county member of Oklahoma Home and Community Education, serving in different offices and as committee chairperson.

She enjoyed sewing for loved ones, especially making memory teddy bears and all kinds of crafts.

She enjoyed serving as hostess for all family gatherings, birthdays and holidays.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Parks, 1901 E. Hubbard Road, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Patsy will lie in state from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, March 17, at Roberts and Son Funeral Home, Blackwell.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the hospice of the donor’s choice.
