Charles "Bud" Erwin Sinclair passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his home in Ponca City. He was 75 years old. A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Charles will be laid to rest following military honors by the United States Navy at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Casketbearers will be: Rodney Meeks, Blake Hashagen, Brody Brooks, Seth Sinclair, Levi Brooks, and Sebastian Sinclair. Honorary casketbearers will be: Donnie Ray, Randy Ray, Kevin Sinclair, and Bret Sinclair.

Bud was born on April 11, 1942 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to his parents, Clifford and Inez (Ellison) Sinclair. Bud proudly served his country in the United States Navy and loved the traveling experience he received through the military. Bud worked as a police officer with the Ponca City Police Department and retired in 1991 as an Assistant Chief after 23 years of service. After retirement, Bud became an enthusiastic NASCAR fan and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a Bud Light. Bud was a simple man who never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Blake Sinclair, brother, Gary Sinclair, and sister, Lois Stewart.

Charles is survived by his wife, Jan Sinclair of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughter, Kristi Brooks of Alaska, son, Adam Sinclair of Mascoutah, Illinois, grandchildren, Blake Hashagen, Levi Brooks, Brody Brooks, Shiloh Sinclair, Seth Sinclair, and Sebastian Sinclair, great-grandchildren, Oaklee, Graycen, and Kinsley, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 E. 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.
