Henry L. Sargent longtime Kay county resident passed away Monday morning, February 6, 2017 with his family by his side. He was 82 years of age. Henry was born on November 21, 1934 in Ponca City, OK to Claude C. and Margaret Bloxsom Sargent.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 in the Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dennis Wildman pastor of First Baptist Church of Burbank, OK officiating. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.

Henry grew up in Ponca City and he met the love of his life Jacquelin ''Jackie'' Baker and they were married on October17, 1958 in Newkirk, OK and they made their home in Newkirk, OK. Henry worked for Rodeo Meat Packing Plant in Arkansas City, KS and then retired from Bar S Foods in Clinton, OK. After retirement he moved with his wife to Ponca City, OK and they owned and operated the Steamatic Carpet Cleaning service until 2011.

During his early years Henry enjoyed roping and riding bulls and he was a member of the Newkirk Range Riders. He also enjoyed Bowling, Playing Softball, Fishing and spending time with family and especially watching his grandkids participate in rodeos, basketball, football and sports of any kind. One of his favorite past times was to watch old western movies and wrestling with the grandkids on tv.

Survivors include: Son, Randy Sargent and wife Shara of Newkirk, OK, Daughter, Robin Carpenter and husband Sonny of Ponca City, OK, and Son, Reggie Sargent and wife, Bronna of Newkirk, OK. Along with 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Jackie in 2011, Sister, Fannie Sargent Meeks and Brother, Claude C. Sargent Jr.
