Robert “BOB” Eugene Rogers, 70, of Ponca City passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at his residence  Bob was born on Jan 13, 1942 in Ponca City, OK to John Chris and Audrey (Wright) Rogers.

Bob attended Ponca City Schools and graduated in 1960. Bob then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1962 where he retired after 20 years on Jan. 31, 1982. He and Sherron Jorgenson were married on July 1, 1962 in Ponca City. Bob and Sherron would have celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on July 1, 2012.  Bob received his Associates of Arts from N.O.C. Bob later retired from the State of Oklahoma Employment Commission. Bob was of the Christian Faith. Bob loved to fish, watch TV and play Gin Rummy. Bob was also a skydiver and rock hound. Bob was also an amateur gemologist creating a vast array of jewelry.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and 1 brother-Steve Rogers. 

Bob is survived by his wife-Sherron, 2 children; Teresa Rogers of Ponca City and Lori and husband Dake Shreffler of Ponca City, his mother- Audrey Rogers of Newkirk, 1 Brother-John Rogers of Newkirk, 4 grandchildren; Richard Blackwell, Andrea Blubaugh, Catherine Blackwell and Mykel Rogers. 1 great grandson-Benjamin Blackwell. 

Memorial contributions can be made to Image Hospice, 611 E. Hartford, Ponca City, OK 74601.  Memorial services will be held at 10 am., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Linda Hughes and Rev. Niki Jorgenson officiating. Private burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.
