Reverend Homer L. Rogers of Ponca City, OK went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. He was 88 years old.

He was born on May 15, 1929 in Coffeyville, Kansas and grew up in the area. His parents were Robert Vernon Rogers and Nora Alice Ficus Rogers. He attended Bethany Penial College, now Southern Nazarene University. While there, he met Vera Nadine Hall and the two were married. Together they built a home in Oklahoma. They raised two boys and two girls with love and understanding. Homer lived a long life full of love and laughter. Those who knew loved him dearly. He will be missed forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, daughter Debra Rogers Wallace and grandson Jeremy Wallace, as well as his beloved granddaughter Audrey Wallace from Cleo Springs, Siblings Martha Rogers Murrow, Jimmie Dean Rogers, Clarence Rogers and Barbara Rogers .

He is survived by daughter Becky Lynn Rogers Wallace of Cleo Springs, son Steven L. Rogers of Ponca City, son Michael L Rogers also of Ponca City, 18 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2917 at the ST Luke's Church of the Nazarene located at 1715 E. Prospect Ave in Ponca City, at 2:00 p.m . Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery in Osage County. Vera Rogers, resident of Ponca City, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 76.

Vera was born to Clarence Horace Hall and Clara Alice Richmond Hall in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At the age of four, she moved to Arkansas and grew up just north of Van Buren, Arkansas and graduated from Van Buren Arkansas High School. Her freshman year of college she attended Southern Nazarene University and later went on to Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Vera was a longtime member of St. Lukes Church of the Nazarene. She married Homer L. Rogers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 1, 1952, and to this union four children were born. Vera had many enjoyments which included crossword puzzles, reading Christian fiction novels, painting, crafts, sewing, flowers and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Vera was a creative person who was good with her hands. She was active in the community and mentored and helped others in any way she could.

She is survived by her loving husband, Homer of Ponca City, Oklahoma; three children, Becky Wallace, and husband, Philip of Aline, Oklahoma, Steve Rogers and wife, Judi of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Mike Rogers and wife, Liz of Ponca City, Oklahoma; one brother, H.V. Hall; one sister, Doris Dobbs; grandchildren, Chantel Rogers, Erica Rogers, Michelle Rogers, Nichole Rogers, Dustin Rogers, Christopher Wallace, Lillian Wallace, Jennifer Wallace, Timothy Wallace, Elizabeth Stevens, Christopher Clement, Amanda Wallace, Audrey Wallace, Valerie Dobbs, Austin Wallace, Heather Woodall, Debra Austin, Anthony Wallace and Sarah Wallace; and 19 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Wallace; brothers, Buck, Bill and Ed Hall; grandsons, Jeremy and Kyle Wallace.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2008 at St. Lukes Church of the Nazarene with Reverends David Frees and Roy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Vera's honor to St. Lukes Church of the Nazarene, 1715 E. Prospect, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74604.
