Lenora Stella (Cockrum) Price, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed Sunday morning, April 15, 2018 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 94.

Lenora was born August 21, 1923 at Perry, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles F. and Mary (Tontz) Cockrum. She graduated from Hayward High School in Noble County where she was the secretary-treasurer of her senior class. She was married to Oakley Kenneth Price on April 15, 1943 in Ponca City. The couple was married for 67 years at the time of his passing and Lenora passed on what would have been their 75th anniversary. Lenora was employed as an Avon representative for many years. She was promoted to district manager and Oakley and Lenora moved to Arkansas but they missed their family and friends and eventually returned to Ponca City. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Her enjoyments included her family, traveling the country with her husband in their earlier retirement years, enjoying time with her grandchildren, crocheting, baking and cooking. She was active in the PTA when her daughters were in school and very active in the church. She always had a smile on her face and would wave to the other residents of the nursing home. She was a very well loved and respected woman in the community.

She is survived by her daughters Cheryl and husband Wesley Carpenter of Apache Junction, Arizona and Beverly and husband Richard Montgomery of Lynden, Washington, grandson Andrew Carpenter, granddaughters Shaina (Randy) Underwood, and Shannon (Robert) Underwood, one sister Grace (Clarence) McKee, two brothers George Cockrum and James E. Cockrum.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Tobe Carpenter and eight siblings.

Oakley Kenneth Oak Price, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed Sunday morning, July 25, 2010 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 88.

In lieu of a memorial service the family had a time of gathering and sharing memories.

Oak was born August 13, 1921 at Red Rock, Oklahoma, the son of Gomer John Price and Edith Blew Price. He was a 1937 graduate of Red Rock High School. He was married to Lenora Stella Cockrum on April 15, 1943 in Ponca City. The couple had been married 67 years at Mr. Prices passing. Oak was employed throughout his years as an auto and farm parts manager, having worked for Auto Electric, Mungers and Edwards Equipment. He was a member of the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church. His enjoyments were his family and in earlier years traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora two daughters, Cheryl Carpenter and husband, Wesley, Apache Junction, Arizona, and Beverly Montgomery and husband, Richard, of Lynden, Washington four grandchildren, Tobe Carpenter, Andrew Carpenter, Shannon Underwood and Shaina Underwood two great grandchildren, Corey Carpenter and Lucretia Carpenter one great great grandchild, Vanessa Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings.
