Frances Irene Patton went to live with her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2018, at the age of 94. She was a long-time resident of Ponca City, residing here for nearly 60 years.

Frances was born on July 21, 1924 in Cicero, Kansas. She was the daughter of Irl and Hazel Robinson, also of Cicero. She attended the county grade school and high school in Belle Plaine, Kansas.

She married Joseph Vernon Patton on May 15, 1945 in Wichita and they made their first home in Port Orchard, Washington. Joe was in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Maryland, stationed in Bremerton, Washington. After Joe's discharge from the Navy he went to work for Oklahoma Gas & Electric, and made their home in Ponca City. After living in Ponca City for eight years, they moved to Sulphur, Oklahoma, where they lived for eleven years before returning to Ponca City in 1964.

Frances was a member of the First Christian Church of Ponca City, where she assisted with Friendship Feast and the church newsletter, and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a 60-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was Worthy Matron and a member of the Past Matron's Club.

Frances is survived by her two sons, Gordon Patton, and his wife Marge, of Ponca City, OK and Roy Patton and his wife, Janet of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Kellee Shepherd, and husband, Scott of Joplin, MO, Ellen Stone of Santa Fe, NM, Lauren Homer, and husband Caleb, of Nacogdoches, TX, and Sean Patton of Cleburne, TX; as well as, six great-grandchildren: Stephen Homer, Milo and Hunter Cousineau, Hannah, Morgan, and Spencer Shepherd.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, in 1994, her parents, her sisters, LeOta Brown and Velma Jean Robinson, twin grandsons Robert Steven and Christopher Ryan Patton.

A funeral ceremony for Frances will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Following the ceremony, Francis will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends and family may pay their respects at Trout Funeral Home on Saturday, August 11th from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Sunday, August 12th from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Frances' family will be available to greet friends on Sunday, August 12th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Caleb Homer, Scott Shepherd, Fred Miller, Allen Luebke, and Sean Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
