Freda E. Stapleton Akers Olberding, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Shawn Manor Nursing Home. She was 86.

The graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Memorial Park in Bartlesville, OK with Brother Joe Conn of Cleveland, OK, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Freda was born on December 23, 1922 to Porter Meade Stapleton and Marvie Faye (Silvis) Stapleton in the Boston Mountains in Arkansas. She married Jimmie P. Akers, Sr. on July 31, 1942 in Bartlesville and faithfully attended Free Will Baptist Church. She then later moved to Austin, TX where they had their son Jimmie P. Akers, Jr. in 1957. Later they moved to Ponca City to open Lot-A-Burger in the 1960's, where they owned and operated it until the late 1970’s. In 1981 Freda married John Olberding in Golden, Missouri where they made their home and later traveled extensively; retiring in Terlton, OK on the lake. In 2001 Freda moved back to Ponca City to be close to her son Jimmie and wife Darla where she still helped with family business.

She is survived by one son Jimmie P. Akers, Jr. and his wife Darla; four step children: Keith and Julie Olberding of Summerfield, KS, Marceil and Duane Feldkamp of Effingham, KS, Carleen and Ken Merritt of Meriden, KS, and Diane Condeni of Kansas City, MO; two brothers Jerry Wayne Stapleton and his wife Pam of Jacksonville, FL; Bud Stapleton and his wife Alsie Mae Stapleton of Bartlesville; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands.
