December 8, 1947 - December 20, 2020

Marnie D. Nemechek, age 73, of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away December 20, 2020 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Care is under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 28th at Sunset Memorial Park with Chaplin Mike Sweetman officiating.

Marnie was born on December 8, 1947 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Max and Joyce (Artman) Knight. Marnie grew up in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1966.

Marnie went to work at Conoco Phillips after graduating high school and retired from there after 35 years of faithful service. Marnie was an avid OU Football fan and waited all year for football season. She hosted watch parties for the last 20 years with her best friends and loyal OU fans, Sarah Oberly and Joy Evans. Marnie’s other love, besides her family and friends, were her loyal boxer dogs. She always had at least one Boxer by her side to spoil.

Preceding in death are Marnie's parents, Max and Joyce Knight and George and Joyce Sumpter, of Arkansas, who she claimed as her 2nd set of parents. Marnie believed that family is not always made by blood but instead by the people that surround you, support you, and love you. Marnie formed her own family and they will carry on her spirit and memory; long-time best friends/sisters Joy Evans and Sarah Oberly, daughter Jennifer and Husband Joe Hendren, grandchildren Allison Oberly, Fletcher Warmington, and Jojo Hendren, and great-grandchildren Hadley Oberly and Brady Ballinger.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview, Ponca City, OK.
